Anacapa Technologies, Inc. announces the market release of Anaseptâ„¢ skin and wound antiseptic. Anasept demonstrates exceptional broad-spectrum antimicrobial action against pathogenic organisms including the antibiotic-resistant strains, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant enterococci, without concomitant cytotoxicity.
A multipatient comparison study conducted at a large hospital-based skilled nursing facility in Southern, California, showed that Anasept was effective in reducing wound bioburden and improving the rate of healing. The study results were published in the August 2004 issue of Ostomy/Wound Management.
