Milliken Skin Textile Designed for Bariatric Patients Receives FDA Clearance

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted pre-market clearance under section 510-K of the Drug and Cosmetics Act to Milliken & Company (Spartanburg, SC) for InterDry textile with silver. The textile will serve as a skin protectant for skin folds and other skin-to-skin areas of bariatric patients.
The textile is a soft, porous, composite material sold in 10-in x
144-in rolls that can be cut to accommodate size depending on body placement and patient size.
The FDA-cleared marketing claims include odor reduction, skin-to-skin friction reduction, and moisture transportation from skin folds.
