Academic Podiatric Surgeon - Wound Center Director

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, Department of Surgery,
Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Burns ( is
committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The
department is seeking an academic podiatric surgeon with special interests and expertise in
chronic and problematic wounds for the position of Wound Center Director. This is a full-time
faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor level (series to be determined).
Applicants must possess documented teaching and research experience in an area relevant to wounds. Previous experience and strong background in clinical sciences research is highly

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
1) Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery
2) Must have or be able to obtain a California podiatric medical license
3) Commitment to research and education
4) Experience in treatment of wounds of the lower extremity
5) Participate in teaching, mentoring, research or service towards building an equitable and
diverse scholarly environment.
