TheraSkin is a cryo-preserved human skin allograft with both epidermis and dermis layers. When applied to a wound that is not healing properly, the skin allograft can jumpstart the healing process. The product provides a supply of growth factors, cytokines, and collagen to promote wound healing and is a superior alternative to Bio-engineered Skin Substitute (BSS) products currently used to help heal chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. Like BSS’s, the product provides necessary growth factors and cytokines. Unlike BSS’s, the skin allograft provides a large quantity of essential collagens in appropriate ratios to support healing.
