Ubuntu International Conference — A Global Wound Healing Initiative

The Wound Healing Fraternity across the globe will be coming together at this extraordinary event to find and uncover wounds that are either hidden or neglected within different community settings worldwide. You are herewith invited to join the world at the Cape Town International Conference Centre from September 5–8, 2010 for this unique interactive initiative.

The theme of this conference is UBUNTU — a global wound healing initiative: Uncovering the hidden wound. The basic tenet of UBUNTU is motho ke motho ka batho ba bang — a person is a person through other people.

The aim is to identify these hidden and neglected wounds within different communities and resource settings all over the world, as well as the identification of specific community-based epidemiological trends and patterns. The main goal for this conference is to create an environment to promote advocacy and awareness for the hidden wound in order to find pathways in solving the problem. The conference will consist of a pre-conference public awareness day followed by a formal scientific conference program of three days with an interesting mix of international and local speakers.
